Private Lessons & Training with Ryan Blatchley
About Ryan Blatchley – RB Performance Horses
Ryan Blatchley is the owner and trainer of RB Performance Horses, specializing in colt starting, young horse development, green horse advancement, and building solid, dependable foundations for horses at every stage of training. Ryan’s background is rooted in reining and Western performance horses, including time spent as an Assistant Trainer at Santa Hill Ranch. His experience within the reining industry helped shape an approach centered on softness, responsiveness, body control, balance, and clear communication between horse and rider. While performance training is an important part of Ryan’s background, the principles behind his work translate across disciplines. His focus is not simply on getting a horse to perform a particular maneuver, but on helping the horse understand what is being asked and developing the confidence, responsiveness, and foundation necessary for continued progress. Ryan works with horses and riders at a variety of stages—from young horses preparing for their first rides and green horses needing additional education, to established horses and riders looking to improve communication, responsiveness, confidence, and overall partnership. His training philosophy emphasizes clarity, consistency, feel, timing, and creating a willing response rather than simply demanding one. By breaking the training process into understandable steps, Ryan helps horses become more confident in their work while helping riders better recognize what their horse is communicating beneath them. Whether your goal is to advance a young or green horse, work through gaps in your horse’s foundation, improve softness and body control, or simply become a more effective and confident rider, sessions with Ryan are tailored to the individual horse-and-rider combination.
