Nestled on more than 200 acres in southeastern Connecticut, Silver Brook offers thoughtfully designed equestrian experiences for individuals, couples, families, and small groups. Whether you're reconnecting with horses, celebrating a special occasion, building confidence, exploring horsemanship, or simply looking for a peaceful day in the country, each experience is designed to be personalized, welcoming, and memorable.

Our experiences may include grooming, horse-human communication, horsemanship instruction, guided trail riding, time with the horses, scenic farm surroundings, photography opportunities, and optional enhancements depending on the experience selected.

All experiences are offered by advance reservation only and are subject to horse, staff, facility, weather, and trail availability.

When registering, you will be asked to select your preferred experience and provide your preferred date and time. Your requested date and time are not considered confirmed until you receive confirmation from Silver Brook Stables.

Once your reservation is confirmed, we will provide any final instructions you need before your visit.

Where horsemanship & connection meet! 

    • Approximately 2 Hours

      A personalized introduction to grooming, horse communication, basic horsemanship, and trail riding.

      You'll begin by meeting and grooming your horse while learning about equine behavior, communication, safety, and basic horsemanship. After a brief orientation, enjoy an approximately one-hour guided trail ride through Silver Brook's scenic farm and trails, with instruction tailored to your comfort and experience level.

      Afterward, enjoy some relaxed time with the horses, take photographs, and soak in the peaceful surroundings.

    • Approximately 2 Hours

      Enjoy the complete Signature Horse Experience followed by a beautifully prepared charcuterie experience overlooking the pastures as the sun begins to set.

      Perfect for families, children, seniors, and anyone who loves horses but may not wish to ride.

      Guests will learn about horse behavior and communication while grooming, walking, interacting with, and spending time with our horses in a relaxed farm setting.
      Participants must be at least 5 years of age. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

      Designed for adults who are considering horse ownership, returning to riding after time away, or simply looking to develop a stronger understanding of horses and practical horsemanship.

      This experience focuses on confidence, communication, safety, grooming, handling, basic horse care, and riding skills in a relaxed, individualized environment.

      Celebrate a meaningful occasion surrounded by horses and the countryside.

      This experience includes a professional photography session with professionally edited digital images captured at multiple scenic locations around Silver Brook.

      Ideal for engagements, anniversaries, birthdays, maternity sessions, family portraits, proposals, milestone celebrations, or simply creating beautiful memories.

    Waiver Requirement
    All participants are required to complete the electronic Hold Harmless Waiver through RegFox. The waiver link will appear on the registration confirmation page and must be completed prior to event check-in. QR codes will not be available until the waiver is submitted.

    Because our Signature Experiences are privately scheduled and reserved specifically for you and your party, all payments are non-refundable. Once your experience is confirmed, that date and time are removed from our availability and may prevent us from accepting another booking.

    We understand that plans can change. If you are unable to attend your scheduled experience, please contact Silver Brook Stables as soon as possible. With reasonable advance notice, we will be happy to work with you to reschedule your experience.

    Rescheduling is subject to availability, and we cannot guarantee that your preferred alternate date or time will be available. We encourage guests to provide several possible dates when requesting a change.

    Purchase Protection/Registration Insurance is available during registration and is strongly recommended for additional protection against unforeseen circumstances.

    By completing your registration and payment, you acknowledge and agree that:

    Your payment is non-refundable.
    Your confirmed appointment reserves that time exclusively for your party.
    With advance notice, we will make every reasonable effort to reschedule your experience.

    About this space

    Renovated family home attached to a historic 1700s house (formerly a Tavern and Inn). Minutes away from the Mohegan Sun Casino and short drives to beautiful CT destinations like Mystic or Stonington. Outside the home is a working equestrian center so you will wake up to horses in our pastures.

    This space has two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed, a guest room has two twin beds, and a living room has a sofa bed. There are also two full bathrooms. Please note that the master bedroom is on the second floor directly up the stairs and has no bedroom door. Similar to a loft style which has a private bathroom.

    What to Expect After You Register

    Once your registration is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation email outlining the next steps. Please review the following carefully to ensure a smooth clinic experience:

    Waiver / Hold Harmless Agreement

    During registration, you will be required to review and electronically agree to our Hold Harmless / Liability Waiver. This electronic acknowledgment is securely recorded and legally binding. No additional paperwork is required unless otherwise noted.

    Participant Questionnaire

    All riders must complete the brief participant questionnaire that will be emailed before clinic. This information helps us and the clinician prepare appropriately for each horse-and-rider combination.

    Confirmation & Records

    All submitted information — including waiver acknowledgment, questionnaire responses, and uploaded documents — is stored with your registration and accessible to event administrators.

    If you have questions after registering, please reach out prior to the event so we can assist you in advance. We look forward to having you join us at Silver Brook Stables.

    Please wear appropriate footwear, boots with a short heel, closed toe, no sneakers or sandals.

    Weather & Scheduling Notice:

    Weather & Scheduling Notice: Silver Brook Stables Signature Experiences are held at an outdoor facility. In the event of unsafe or unworkable weather conditions, your experience will be rescheduled to a future date rather than canceled. Registration fees and deposits will be applied to the rescheduled date. Refunds will not be issued for weather-related postponements. All scheduling decisions are made with the safety of horses, riders, and clinicians as the top priority.
