FROM LIBERTY TO BRIDLELESS A Two-Day Immersive Horsemanship Experience with Stephania Leombruno of Odysseia Equestrian October 3–4, 2026 | Silver Brook Stables | Uncasville, Connecticut
What happens when we begin using less equipment... and start listening more deeply?
When communication becomes quieter. When we stop asking, “How do I make my horse do this?” and begin asking: “What is my horse telling me—and how can I become clearer in return?” Silver Brook Stables welcomes Stephania Leombruno of Odysseia Equestrian for an intimate two-day exploration of Liberty, Bridleless Riding, herd behavior, communication, and connection. This is not a traditional large-group clinic.
ONLY SIX HORSE & HUMAN PARTNERSHIPS
This experience is intentionally limited to just six participants and their horses, allowing Stephania to provide meaningful individualized instruction while creating an environment where everyone can learn through observation, discussion, and the experiences of the other partnerships. Each participant will work individually with Stephania twice each day: Morning — Liberty Approximately 35–40 minutes of private instruction Afternoon — Bridleless Approximately 35–40 minutes of private instruction And you'll do it again on Day Two. Over the course of the weekend, each participant receives approximately 2½ hours of individualized instruction with their own horse, in addition to theory, herd observation, group learning, reflection, and the opportunity to observe every other horse-and-human partnership.
THE TWO-DAY EXPERIENCE
Morning: Understanding Before Doing
Each day begins with theory and observation. Participants will explore horse behavior and communication, observe horses interacting within a herd, and begin applying those observations to their own relationships with their horses. The morning then progresses into individual Liberty sessions, where each horse-and-human partnership works privately with Stephania.
Midday: Lunch & Integration
We'll gather for lunch, conversation, questions, and a midday check-in before moving into the afternoon work.
Afternoon: From Liberty to Bridleless
Participants return for their second individual session of the day, this time exploring Bridleless work and the communication underneath it. The day concludes with reflection on what was learned, what changed, and where each partnership can go next.
WHAT YOU'LL EXPLORE
Throughout the weekend, participants will explore: Horse behavior and communication Reading and observing herd dynamics Applying herd observations to the human-horse relationship Liberty foundations Individual Liberty work Foundations for Bridleless communication Individual Bridleless work Clarity, softness and responsiveness Trust, choice and connection Reflection and integration Creating meaningful next steps for your partnership This clinic is not about removing equipment for the sake of removing equipment. It isn't about performing tricks. And it isn't about taking the bridle off before you or your horse are ready.
It is about developing the quality of communication that makes increasingly subtle communication possible.
Because Liberty isn't really about removing the rope. And Bridleless isn't really about removing the bridle.
It's about discovering how much communication remains when we begin removing the things we thought we needed.
